Santiago, Chile, August 18, 2004: Dredging Supply Company, Inc. (DSC) is pleased to announce its recent agreement with JRI Ingeniería S.A. (JRI) in appointing them as their Exclusive Sales Representative for South America. JRI, a corporation with headquarters in Santiago, Chile, is internationally recognized as a consulting and engineering firm for the mining industry and nets 5 to 10 million dollars in engineering services annually. With original plans dating back as far as last year, Bob Wetta of DSC and Lincoyán Hernández of JRI were pleased to make their agreement official at a meeting held in Santiago on Thursday July 1 st, 2004.

JRI and DSC were acquainted early last year when JRI was involved in a project to reclaim fifty million tons of copper tailing. JRI begun assisting their customer, Disputada Mine (owned by Exxon) during their search for a reputable international dredge manufacturer. Dredging Supply Company, Inc. came highly recommended throughout the dredging industry, which led JRI to recommend the company to their client. Dredging Supply Company worked with Disputada Mine and customized two (2) 14 x 12 Electric Marlin Class dredges to meet their specific requirements.
Shortly after the international sale of (2) 14 x 12 Electric Marlin Class dredges, Dredging Supply Company, Inc. was selected to receive the Export Achievement Award from the US Department of Commerce for excellence in exporting. Dredging Supply Company’s president, William Wetta, accepted the award and spoke of their fortunate timing with the new Chile-US Free Trade Agreement at the Port of Greater Baton Rouge in Louisiana. “We see the Chilean dredge sale as the beginning of a long-term international strategy,” declared Bob Wetta, DSC’s Chief Operations Officer.
JRI has over 23 years experience in the Chilean Mining Industry and has worked in several other countries, including Canada, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Bulgaria, Armenia, Greece, Russia, and Indonesia. Dredging Supply Company, Inc. sells dredging equipment and dredge related parts to customers around the globe. In fact, over the past year they added 15 new representatives globally and are committing themselves to continual expansion throughout the international market. Since Dredging Supply Company, Inc. and JRI Ingeniería S.A. joined forces; many South American opportunities have developed and both companies look forward to their growing relationship.
